Many businesses spend money on leasing photocopying machines or investing in desktop printers for a number of staff members. Not much thought is given to other potential money-saving solutions that could eliminate or significantly reduce the monthly leasing costs or the upfront investment and ongoing running costs of photocopiers and printers.

There are however solutions that will not only save money but will free up time for staff, allowing them to focus on real business matters. Printing companies invest in printers and photocopiers for the precise reason that you and your business don’t have to. They are the solution to saving money, freeing up staff time, and not having large copiers or printers cluttering office space and staff desks. By investing in copying equipment that will go on to service hundreds of businesses and individuals every month, we are able to offer print and copy rates that are well below the rates that a single business is able to achieve by leasing copiers or buying printers for their own use.

If your business is currently leasing a copier or has invested in rapidly depreciating printers, it may be the time to rethink your copying and printing solutions and look to outsource your copying to your local copy and print store. If you really think about how often your staff makes B&W copies and it turns out that the business is not, in fact, making that many, then you are paying a premium for every copy you make. Similarly, if you are making large numbers of B&W copies, then it would be better to save on leasing costs, and let somebody else cover those costs. Whichever way you look at it, having in-house copy facilities does not always make business sense. Additionally, an analysis of staff time spent standing over a copier while hundreds of B&W copies are made or time spent buying, fetching and replacing toner cartridges, will likely reveal a lot of wasted time that could be spent handling more important business matters. The motivation for outsourcing your B&W printing is strong and makes real business sense.

File & Preparation

In order to ensure your files are print-ready, we recommend that you upload them in PDF format.

If you are uploading PDF files created in Photoshop, please be sure all layers are flattened.

We also accept .JPG (JPEG), and .TIF (TIFF) file types, however PDF is the preferred format.

Check your file to make sure it meets our file creation guidelines. This will help speed up the production of your project and give your printed piece the best results.

  1. Use the CMYK colorspace (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK). These are industry standard printing colors. CMYK colors are different than RGB (Red, Green, Blue), which are used to display colors on your screen.

  2. Use a minimum resolution of 300 dpi for image files.

  3. Specify trim area with crop marks. (Don't place crop marks inside the work area.)

  4. Artwork should have 1/8" (0.125") bleed extending past the trim line. This is to prevent minor cutting variations from leaving unintended results at the trim edge.

  5. Safe Area is the 1/8" (0.125") area inside the trim line. Do not put critical information or images within the Safe Area. This is to prevent minor cutting variations from leaving unintended results at the trim edge.

  6. If you want printed borders, they must be placed a minimum of 1/8" (0.125") inside the trim line and include bleed. This is to prevent minor cutting variations from leaving unintended results at the trim edge.
